Both my husband and I came and we have very different levels of French. Anne Elizabeth was able to work with us both. She is an excellent coach and we both made decent progress. I wish we had booked for a longer stay. The living accommodation is perfect with lots of room for the two of us. Meals prepared by Michel were superb. The location was amazing and we could walk or tram easily to so many places. We were taken on two adventures very much suited to our interests and we even swam in the sea. We felt so at home it was like a holiday with friendly or even family and very much enjoyed learning some French culture first hand. Fantastique!

She assessed quickly my needs as learner for grammar, speaking and listening practice,  and the confidence I needed to move forward.  She and her husband, Michel, were gracious hosts, attending to the needs of my husband (who knows no French) as well as my own. They generously shared beloved places in the area, and made fabulous meals that were enhanced by rich conversation.  My only regret is that I didn’t book a longer visit.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I spent two wonderful weeks with Anne-Elizabeth speaking French every day in a way I  could not do before.  I have tried French Schools in New Jersey and in France but an immersion here was so much better. I had my own apartment upstairs from Anne-Elizabeth and her wonderful husband Michel who did most of the cooking for us. We had formal lessons every morning after our « French breakfast «  till lunch time. After a delicious lunch every day they would take me somewhere or help me plan an excursion by myself.
I saw and did more things than I could have ever  imagined. We even went to visit her parents for the weekend. They live in a seaside village near the Spanish border. I felt like a member of the family.
I also want to comment on how wonderful it was for me to have my own space but be a part of their everyday life. I just loved Montpellier and all the areas around.
I am so glad I chose to stay for two weeks because my progress improved every day.  I have returned to my French tutor here in New Jersey more confident than ever.
And Michel is a wonderful cook. Thank you both, I hope to return one day.

I recently spent a week in Montpellier in a French immersion program with Anne-Elisabeth. I had been wanting to visit Montpellier and thought it would be a great opportunity to combine the trip with a program like this.

It was a challenging but valuable experience. Anne-Elisabeth created a welcoming and supportive environment, and I appreciated her patience and encouragement throughout the week. Meals together were an important part of the daily practice, and Michel is an excellent cook, which made that time both enjoyable and engaging.

The planned excursions with Anne-Elisabeth, along with time to explore on my own, made the program work well for me.

The program offers a true immersion into daily French life, which can feel intense at times, but ultimately helps build confidence in real-world conversations. I’m still processing and integrating what I learned, but I’m grateful for the experience and the care that was extended to me during my stay.

I participated in a weeklong immersion program with Anne Elisabeth in Montpellier before meeting up with friends to explore Provence. It was a great way to get a head start on practical French. Anne Elisabeth was a skilled teacher, addressing my interests while targeting my  language needs. Her teaching methods were varied and engaging, including practicing dialogues, applying skills in real-life situations, reading brochures and articles about culture, and using songs to demonstrate grammar and historical references. Her guidance helped me progress to the next level.

Spending time with my hosts added an extra dimension to my trip. They introduced me to places beyond the usual tourist destinations, offering insights into French culture that I would have missed otherwise. Anne Elisabeth and Michel welcomed me warmly, treating me to local cuisine and a variety of wines and cheeses.

The apartment and its location were an unexpected bonus, a peaceful oasis in a suburb near Montpellier. I enjoyed walking with Anne Elisabeth from their home to the medieval village of Castelnau-Le-Lez, which I had seen depicted in a painting by Bazille the previous day at the Musée Fabre.

My hosts provided a good mix of time with them but also time to venture out on my own and practice my newly learned skills. It was fun to take the tram into the city and explore Montpellier. Thanks to my hosts’ recommendations, I explored the medieval city as well as the Antigone  district with its neoclassical architecture. I also took the opportunity to seek out a variety of museums and art exhibits. Michel and Anne Elisabeth provided plentiful options and were patient with giving directions.

Attending a Montpellier symphony concert with Anne Elisabeth and Michel at the Corum was also a highlight.

Our excursions to Aigues-Mortes and the Cathedral Magelone deepened my understanding of French history. Anne Elisabeth made a special effort to highlight details I might have overlooked on my own.

I especially enjoyed visiting Palavas Le Flot, where we took a nature walk to observe salt marshes and pink flamingos, and later enjoyed artisanal ice cream along the quai.I returned later to Palavas Le Flot with my travel companions, feeling more confident in my French and eager to share this unique experience with them.

I highly recommend this immersion experience for anyone seeking both language improvement and a genuine cultural connection to this area of France.

I returned because the first visit, two years ago had been so helpful and so enjoyable. Anne-Elisabeth is an excellent French teacher and, guided by her, I felt that both my proficiency in French and my confidence in speaking it improved. Both visits were total immersion so, apart from formal teaching sessions, I lived with her and her husband speaking nothing but French. This was immensely valuable.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience. I think you will get the most out of the experience if you have the basics down at an A1-A2 level. There will be a lot of conversation which is critical. I felt I improved quite a bit in just a week.

Montpellier is a great town. The tram is very close to the home and it is easy to get to town on line 2.

The apartment is perfectly adequate with a separate living area, kitchen, bath and bedroom. Carrefour is one stop or a 10 min walk away to buy supplies for your other meals. I generally made my breakfast and went out for the other meal of the day ( Anne-Elizabeth provides either dinner or lunch - good food and more conversation and learning)
